Disney Announces Ice Age 6 for 2026! Ray Romano, Queen Latifah, and John Leguizamo Return!

Disney is reviving the popular Ice Age franchise with its sixth installment, slated for release in 2026. This new film marks the first main entry since 2016's "Ice Age: Collision Course". Original stars Ray Romano (Manny), John Leguizamo (Sid), and Queen Latifah (Ellie) are set to reprise their roles, with fans awaiting confirmation on Denis Leary (Diego).

The announcement was made at D23 Brazil, Disney's first South American fan convention, highlighting excitement for the series, which has grossed over $6 billion worldwide.

One key question about "Ice Age 6" is which studio will animate it. Previous films were produced by Blue Sky Studios, known for hits like The Peanuts Movie and Rio, until Disney's acquisition of 21st Century Fox in 2019 led to Blue Sky’s closure. Disney’s Walt Disney Animation Studios or Pixar may handle production, though the Vancouver-based Bardel Entertainment animated 2022’s Disney+ spinoff, The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild.

The Ice Age series follows a group of prehistoric animals navigating survival and friendship, with fan-favorite characters like Scrat, the sabertoothed squirrel, known for his comical nut-chasing adventures.
